American Education Week Workshop Night for High School Parents/Guardians

Harriton High School Principal Stu Warshawer and Lower Merion High School Principal Dr. Mike Johnson will welcome high school parents/guardians to an evening of educational workshops. * 6:30 pm: Welcome * 6:45-7:15 pm: Workshop 1 * 7:30-8:00 pm: Workshop 2 Attendees will choose which of these workshops they want to attend: * Mental Health: Dr. St. James from Caron Treatment Center will share proactive strategies to support teen mental health and reduce substance abuse risks, along with local resources for families. * AI Instights: Laura Hutelmeyer, LMSD Instructional Technology Specials, will explore how parents/guardians can support responsible student use of Artificial Intelligence in alignment with District policies. * Restorative Practices: Dr. Johnson will share Restorative Practices used in schools to build community and repair harm. Parents/guardians will how they can apply these at home. * Dialogue Stratgies: Mr. Warshawer will share insights from Temple's Dialogue Institute on fostering conversations across cultural differences to better support students.
